Laura

University of Vermont, BA in Political Science (with honors)
University of Wisconsin-Madison, MA in Political Science

Laura is a proud Vermonter living in Madison as she works on her political science PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Vermont (UVM) in 2017 with a B.A. in political science. While at UVM, Laura was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity, and served as president for a year, among other positions. She took a year-long writing tutor training course at UVM and spent three years as a writing, learning skills, and subject area tutor. In between her time at universities, Laura used these tutor skills (and gained a few more!) while working in disability higher education as an academic coach for Mansfield Hall, a college support program for students with diverse learning needs. She is currently studying leader political psychology and behavior, institutions, and foreign policy for her PhD work. When not doing all things academic, Laura enjoys reading, swimming, traveling, eating her fiance Brad’s amazing cooking, and spending time with other people and her cats, especially if wine and board games are involved. She loves the fall for the weather and football season!
