Cardinal Stritch University
National Board Certified Special Education Teacher & Reading Specialist

I am a National Board Certified Special Education Teacher & Reading Specialist with 26 years of experience. I have worked with a diverse community of learners at both the middle and high school level for my entire career. I worked in Seattle Washington for several years as a Highly Qualified Language Arts Teacher. I earned my masters degree at Cardinal Stritch University as well as my reading specialist license. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2008. I have worked for the Madison Metropolitan School District for the past four years. I currently teach at Lafollete High School as a case manager & advocate.

Literacy is my area of passion and expertise. My greatest love is teaching the process of written language. I also have an extensive background in executive functioning strategies & research and using that work to support student success in the general education setting as part of a student’s post secondary goals.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy every moment I can with my 13 year old son, my 3 cats, and in my garden. I love being outdoors and poolside during the summer.
