Ashley began her career in education designing curricula for an arts education non-profit in the Boston area while studying art and poetry at SMFA/Tufts University. After completing her graduate degree, she went on to earn her teaching credentials from the Sizer Teachers Center while developing interdisciplinary arts and ELA courses at the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens, MA. In addition to her experience as a full-time classroom educator, Ashley has directed visual arts and creative writing after-school and pre-college programs for students in grades 7-12.
Ashley grew up in Charleston, SC and lived in Boston, San Francisco, and London before moving to Madison with her husband and two cats.
