As an Academic Coach, Kalina prioritizes building meaningful relationships with students. She believes trust and connection are essential for creating a supportive and effective learning environment. She also takes a goal-oriented approach to teaching, helping students identify, work toward, and achieve the goals that are most important to them. 

Kalina is originally from the North Shore area of Milwaukee. She attended Saint Louis University where she graduated summa cum laude with degrees in psychology and Spanish. During her time at Saint Louis University, Kalina worked for the office of admission, studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, tutored high school students in math and Spanish, and taught in a prison through the university’s prison education program. Now, she lives in Madison where she completed her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. She is licensed to teach Spanish, math, and English as a Second language and is working as a bilingual resource teacher in the Madison public school system this year. 

Kalina deeply values empathy and kindness in her work with students, and works as a teammate alongside students to help them achieve their goals. In her free time, Kalina enjoys traveling, singing, trying new coffee shops, and exploring Madison!
