Max grew up in small town Pennsylvania and earned his Master’s of Arts in Teaching at Boston University. After graduating, he taught high school History and Social Sciences in public schools in the Greater Boston Area for five years. Max moved to Madison in 2021 to pursue a joint Ph.D. at UW-Madison. His dissertation, titled “Junior Achievement: Education and the Future of American Enterprise” focuses on the history of capitalism and business as it relates to educational programming and pedagogy in the 20th century U.S. He enjoys tackling home renovation projects in his free time where he lives with his wife and two adorable cats.
