Edgewood College, English and Special Education Teaching Licenses + MAE (in progress)

With the dream of being a travel writer, Carly graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Journalism and certificates in European Studies and German. She studied abroad in Bonn, Germany during her junior year of college and explored as much of Europe as she could. After graduation, she worked in group operations at a travel agency before deciding to pursue her own worldly adventures as a Peace Corps volunteer.

For 27 months, Carly served as a Youth in Development volunteer in northern Thailand’s Chiang Rai province, teaching English and life skills to students in fourth through ninth grade. After returning to the United States, Carly relocated to Madison and began courses for her teaching license at Edgewood College. She worked as a high school Special Education teacher for three year and currently teaches English at Sun Prairie West High School.

Outside of her professional life, Carly enjoys traveling and aspires to celebrate a birthday on each continent. She also likes reading, baking, and trying to keep houseplants alive.
